1st-Month Anniversary

Posted by: Bryan Chung In: Blog Entries

Yes it is a relief for me to have successfully been together with Rebecca for a month long. Very often in my past relationships, I can barely hang on to the girl for weeks before she chooses to dump me. It was often a struggle to keep the love going for each other. But thanks to the past failed relationships, I am able to learn from mistakes of each and do better for this relationship I have with Rebecca. Maybe it is true that when you find the “right one”, love should not be that difficult. Nevertheless, we do not expect the relationship to be quarrel-free. It will only be the matter of time when we face problems. So far the biggest challenge regarding her family is some-what solved. With both of us being believers in Christ, we are always reminding each other of how God defines love to be.

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

I remember those verses by hard and always speak and believe that love is that way. So much so that I even designed a wallpaper for my phone to remind myself.

Yesterday, 5 March 2010 was our first month anniversary. It was not celebrated in some huge grand way. But a simple lunch with her at White Tangerine Cafe. Located just opposite from our place at Kovan-Paya Lebar Community Centre. I read about this place from hungrygowhere.com. With just a price of $6, we were able to enjoy a complete set lunch that comes with a bowl of mushroom soup, main course and a drink. $6 only if you are a senior citizen or student. Now that is the great benefit of being student! And that is also why I want to be a student for as long as I can. :) I wanted to order dessert but because she could not finish half of her baked rice, I had to finish it for her. Hence I was so full that I did not order my dessert anymore.

The road ahead is still very long but I am falling deeper in love each day! Is it falling or stepping in love actually? :P

Love you dear!

Happening February; Welcome March

Posted by: Bryan Chung In: Blog Entries

February was a very eventful month for me. So much took place within this shortest month of the year. And normally it is also the favourite month of mine because it is my birthday month. However this year’s February was so much better! Most important event must be the day I found my love and got myself attached with Rebecca. That took place on the 5th. Two weeks later, it was Valentine’s Day that was also the first day of Chinese New Year. Finally I did not have to go through Valentine’s Day without a love partner. Although Rebecca and I did not go out on this special day (because is also Chinese New Year reunion day), I knew emotionally I was not alone. Also my first time I was able to buy a Valentine’s Day gift for my dear. =)

Also special thanks to my friends who celebrated my birthday with me and to those who gave me presents! Well also thanks to those who did not give me presents but wished me! And because Chinese New Year is official over today, I am able to open all my red packets I collected! Not that I cannot open before Chinese New Year is over, but I am in no rush to open them. *Hoping those red packets will multiply below my pillow while sleeping on them.* “Haha!

Now is to figure out when is a good time to visit the bank. I believe the queues to deposit money are still long these days. If only those auto deposit banking machines will accept $2 notes. Unfortunately the machines do not.

So much happened within February! It was exciting but now is time to move on to March and looking forward to what lies ahead. The only “sad” thing of February was to know I turned another year older.

Lunch & Shopping with My Dear

Posted by: Bryan Chung In: Blog Entries

The night before we went out yesterday, she said she wanted to eat something fattening. That is after she took her height and weight to this New Year and realised she has not grown for a year. Well she is already almost my height (if not maybe taller than me) so I do not wish she grow any taller. But to grow horizontally will be better. “Haha!” So after searching on hungrygowhere.com, there was no real special place to bring her to eat on the east. We landed up in Cafe Cartel eating their set lunch for only $9.50 Nett.

After lunch, we went shopping around the three shopping malls around Tampines – Tampines Mall, Tampines 1 and finally at Century Square. I was shopping for a laptop bag. One with a handle on the bag to carry instead of carrying on my arm. The current one I have, condition is getting quite bad. We stepped into Challenger in Tampines 1. There were quite many to choose from. But after remembering how I got scammed a couple of weeks ago by buying the keyboard vacuum cleaner from them, I decided to not commit to buy yet.

Last time was Century Square. Instead of buying laptop bag, we stopped by Haagen-Dazs for ice-cream. I asked if she wanted to ice-cream and she said Haagen-Dazs is nice. Her eyes were like instantly lilted up hearing Haagen-Dazs. So I knew she wanted to eat it even though I know it is super expensive. The last time I ate at Haagen-Dazs was with my mom.

Two scopes with a cone cost $15! Oh well as long as we are enjoying ourselves, $15 is a small price to pay. :) Each of us chose a flavor. She chose the strawberry cheesecake while I chose Belgium chocolate. Both are very nice! She kept giving me that look when I tried to eat her flavor. She is so cute! Oh by the way it was my dear’s first time eating at Cafe Cartel too. At least I brought her to a place she has not eaten before. :)

Sakae Part of My Family Reunion

Posted by: Bryan Chung In: Blog Entries

This month’s Sakae Monthly Blogger Affair entry, I bring to you a place that I ate out of Sakae restaurant but instead from within my home together with my family and relatives! My mom always enjoys eating Sakae’s salad dish. So she decided to try out Sakae’s Rong Yusheng. With my Sakae Card, I paid only $46.88 for the large Yusheng that will serve more than 10 people. Just nice for my family reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year. I topped up another $2 for additional salmon. I pre-ordered the Yusheng days before the actual day that I needed to collect it. I thought on the day of collection, it will be very messy and crowded. I saw stacks of Yusheng boxes piling up in Heartland Mall branch. Stacked up to the ceiling! Thankfully the collection was smooth and the young guy who served me also gave me well wishes for the New Year! Not too bad at all considering I believe he started working not too long ago.

What makes Sakae Yusheng so well love I believe is the large slices of salmon sashimi. While other traditional normal Yusheng will probably give some slices of fish, Sakae was generous in their portion of salmon sashimi!

Let me take this opportunity to also thank Sakae for using my photo contest entry in their latest edition of Sakae Shimbun (newsletter). For sure I am going to keep this copy with me!

Now I cannot wait for Sakae new menu coming in March!
