Into the Junior Colleges

The first time I get my chance to step into a Junior College school is not as a student but as a trainer. That is why I joking told the teachers that I was training, “This is the closest I can be into a Junior College without being a student.” The first oppotunatiy I had was at Victoria Junior College . I was shock when I had to teach in a lecture hall. I was just sharing with my assistant that day about many years ago, I had a problem even standing in front of a crowd of people. Even stummering as I speak before. Today, I can confidently stand in front without being afraid. The confident level that I built up over the years.

Then the second Junior College I went to was … … … Meridian Junior College. =( Why that sad face? Because that is the very school my ex-girlfriend Rebecca studied in. Driving to the school, brought back memories I had when I was with her. I drove her to school and fetching her back from school. And now, I was actually in the school. Looking at the students’ uniform again reminds me of her. In fact everything of the school reminds me of her. Even some of the places I walk, I remember seeing Rebecca taking photos of that place before. Sigh. It would have been stranger if she was still in the school I guess? :(

Been more than a year but I just cannot forget the times I spent with her. Because it was still the best times I had in my life when I was with her.

Happy Lunar New Year

恭喜发财! Welcome in the Year of the Dragon – Happy Lunar New Year!

Loving Your Family

During the Chinese New Year weekend service at City Harvest Church yesterday, pastor preached on the topic of “Loving Your Family“. It was a good sermon but I did not bring my laptop to copy notes. So I just want to share briefly with what I copied on my phone.

With the Chinese New Year a day away, this is a time to just slow down on everything else and focus on family. (But seriously, work related matters are still lingering in my mind every day.) Pastor Kong reminded us that we should continue to honour our parents as the bible said in Ephesians 6:1-3.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

See, God already promised that should we honour our parents, we will be blessed and that we can live long on the earth with prosperity! Later part of the sermon, pastor went on to share on the acronym “F.A.M.I.L.Y” in which we can create a better atmosphere in the family.

  • F = Forgiveness (Psalm 103:11-13)
  • A = Affection (Ephesians 4:32)
  • M = Mindfulness (Jeremiah 29:11)
  • I = Integrity (Proverbs 20:7)
  • L = Loyality (1 Peter 4:8)
  • Y = Yieldedness (1 Timothy 5:1-2)

And if you notice, “F.A.M.I.L.Y” is also “Father And Mother I Love You“. Therefore, do spend this Chinese New Year for a time of good reunion bonding with your family and your relatives!

First Meet with Tiffany this 2012

Tiffany told me it was our first time meeting in 2012. I thought I had met her a week ago only. But anyway, she came to Kovan to have dinner with me yesterday. Before dinner, she came my place and I watched with her a show called “Being Elmo”. The show talks about the real human puppeteer behind Elmo and his life. After the show, we walked over to Heartland Mall to have dinner at Pizza Hut. We wanted to try to special Fortune Bag Pizza for the Chinese New Year season. Besides ordering the Fortune Bag Pizza meal that comes with two drinks and two soups, we also ordered calamari rings and garlic bread as side dishes.

The pizza tasted good! I think this pizza is better than the Christmas pizza that I ate with Xin Yun last month. The fortune bags contain shrimps while the toppings of the pizza include chicken ham, mushroom, pineapple and it comes with chicken floss too. Although the portion of chicken floss was quite pathetically little. I finished my entire portion but as usual of Tiffany, not finishing her portion! Last two slices of the pizza, she basically only ate the toppings. Then half of the garlic bread which is supposed to be her’s to finish, she only ate one piece out of three. Yet she always tells me how hungry she is before the dinner. :)

Tiffany, this year we must take more photos!

First Post of 2012!

First post of 2012! Err wait; I actually posted “Happy New Year 2012″ on the New Year Day itself. So this is by right the second post. Oh well anyway… I am sure I took the first photo of 2012! And it was together with my god-sister Chanel and good friend Xin Yun!

Tiffany was supposed to join us for dinner yesterday but she had to stay in school to prepare the camp fire for the next day camp fire (why am I repeating twice?) for the Secondary 1 orientation. The three of us, we decided to eat at Long John Silver’s at Rivervale Mall. I was tempted to eat there because of this Silver Platter promotion. Looks nice and so the three of us ordered two sets of that. One set is supposed to be for two people. So three of us ate four people share.

We were really full! Most of the food was finished except the fries. Which again, I was sure it will be gone if Tiffany – the fries lover, was around. They were sharing with me about their first few days of school; about their class committee and that Xin Yun is the vice-chairman; about whom they do not like; etc. Really good dinner and time of bonding again. I hope to have such dinner often with friends! :)
