Just two weeks since I started to play basketball, one side of my Nike track shoe gave way. Part of the rubber part of the shoe spilt open. Not wanting to throw the shoes away as it was still useable, I brought the shoes to the cobbler. But he told me it was no point gluing it back because the hole was too big and it will just tear away another day. So I decided to continue to use it despite the condition of it. So I went to play basketball with Louis earlier this evening after we finished our community service work with our classmates in the afternoon. So I had to skip church today.
Another good time of exercise, another good time of playing basketball. Got to know more friends while playing. Especially those regularly playing people there at the court. But my shoes really got worst and that was when I decided to get a new pair. After we finished playing, Louis and I went over to Heartland Mall. Then he picked a pair of Adidas basketball shoes for me from Sports Link. Just like that, I spent $89.00 on those shoes. Because it was a new model, there was no discount. But still basketball shoes are cheaper than normal track shoes. I also spent another $16.90 on a Nike shoe bag. So government will be giving out GST off-set package money tomorrow. I will get $100. And before I got that $100, I have spent it all. “It is unfair I am getting so little!“
Kind of shock that I will actually buy a new pair of shoes just like that. But I guess I needed to invest into one good pair. Hope my interest for basketball will not disappear. After all, it is a good form of exercise and keeping fit for me! I look forward to using it soon! Maybe tomorrow or maybe Monday if the plan to play with Helena is to go on.
