Woke up this Friday to the news of the death of the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson. When Jiayun told me, I could not believe it until I went online to check. “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson was the first song that I ever cried while listening to a song. Till today, I still find that song full of meaning and still very touching! Anyway it was 8:30am when I woke up. So early because I have arranged to meet with Jiayun for breakfast. She wanted to eat the kuay chap at Lorong Ah Soo hawker centre. She came from Sengkang to Kovan to meet me and we drove to the hawker centre together.
A simple breakfast was all that is enough to spend quality time bonding our friendship. After breakfast, I drove her back to her place before going home. For the early afternoon, I spent it with Brittany and Louis. While Louis made his way from school to meet us at Novena, Brittany accompanied me to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for my appointment with the hand specialist doctor. Despite Brittany total fear of the H1N1, she still agreed to step into the hospital with me. While waiting for my turn in queue, we were just cam-whoring!
Doctor said my finger is recovering well. No further fracture was seen. Will come back for another appointment next month. Thankfully did not have to spend long at the hospital. Once finished, we went over to Novena Square where Louis was already waiting. We wanted to eat Mos Burger. But since there was no available seat, we decided on Burger King instead. I tried Burger King’s new burger. The advertisement claimed the burger to be 7 inches long. So I was comparing those 7 inches with Subway’s 6 inches bread. I think this burger is nowhere near 7 inches! However it is quite nice though. Try it when you can!
Brittany was looking forward to buying shorts from CottonOn. However what she wanted was out of stock. Hoping to not make her so disappointed, we drove to Hougang Mall. Sent Louis home along the way. Sadly the branch at Hougang Mall did not have stock for what she wanted too. So she did not get what she wanted. We came back to my place later and I watched two hours of “I Survived a Japanese Gameshow” season two with her. She had never watch season one before even. We had a good time laughing at the show. My dinner was supposed to be settled at home. But with a “pleaseeeee” from her, I decided to eat with her. We walked over to the hawker centre and we shared a plate of hor fun. It was our first time trying the food from this store. The taste is not bad. I want to go back for their fried rice one day.
Along the way back in our condominium, we walked back the basketball court. I stopped and stared at the basketball hoop. I told her, “I really want to play basketball soon!!!” It was a great Friday. Unfortunately it had to be marred by a very sudden, tragic and disappointing end of a friendship with Ida. I do not want to write about it now. Next time maybe. Or I may not want to talk about it. My closer friends would have known what happened by now. Anyway here is a photo taken with Brittany’s phone.
Enjoy your weekend! Know and treasure your true friends around you.
