I finally have my first ever NBA jersey! Just as much as I support Manchester United Football Club; owning few of their jerseys, I also have to support my favourite NBA team – LA Lakers. That is by owning one for their jersey too! And of course none other than my favourite NBA star, Kobe Bryant jersey. I went shopping at Queensway Shopping Centre with Louis and Chee Hoong last Friday. It was suppose to be just a window-shopping day for me because I was looking for a new pair of basketball shoes. My current Adidas one is wearing off at the bottom but still wearable. My next pair I want to get will be Nike brand instead of Adidas. After entering shop by shop, there was only one pair that I kind of like. It was priced at $109 and the sales person was willing to sell me at $80. Even though my dad was already willing to sponsor me the new pair of shoes, I decided to not buy it yet. Probably few months later will have new models and nicer looking pairs.
Then we entered this shop and I saw someone buying LA Lakers jersey. I was stunned because it was the second time we walked into this shop but I did not notice they were selling any jerseys. I was all hyped up. The price was $76 which kind of puts me off to buy. I was so tempted to buy because it is very hard to find a shop that has small size; the size that fitted me. And besides it was the very last new piece! However my mind was made up to purchase it when the sales person gave me a 20% discount. Making the jersey just $60! Those thoughts of mine were exactly the same as Louis. He earlier commented, “If it is $60, I sure buy.” So now that the sales person really made it $60, he had to buy with me! Just too buy there was no Allan Iverson player jersey that he likes. But he end up buying his second favourite, Ray Allen from Boston Celtics.
I am so happy to own that jersey! Although now I do feel quite empty in my wallet, having to part with $60. At least is a one-time thing that I have to spend. And it is something I wish to have.
Now the only problem is that I am no where close to having the skills of Kobe Bryant! So there is a lot of pressure when I put on that jersey to play basketball. “Haha!“
