Finally I can take my time to blog now after not blogging for 4 days. I have been busy the past 2 days especially as I decided to upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Windows 7 is Microsoft latest operating system to hit the market. Not wasting any time, I wanted to give this new operating system a try. After all I am now in my holiday period so I could have time to do all the tedious process of backing up all the old data and later recovering them to Windows 7. I almost regretted installing Windows 7 barely few hours into trying it out. But most of the problems I encountered were solved. Thanks to help I got from computer forums.
I have also opt out of my previous habits I have (e.g. Having RocketDock bar on the left of my screen) to new habits (e.g. Having a desktop without any icons at all). Minimizing usage of my 4GB RAM resource. Since the release of Windows Vista, there was this feature called the “Side Bar” where users can install gadgets. A feature I did not make use of. But now with Windows 7, I decided to give it a try. And so far I am happy with it. Here is a screen shot of my desktop.
So far after 2 days of using Windows 7, I am very happy with the performance. One significant improvement has to be the boot up time. From the time I power on till it loads the operating system takes no more than a minute. Compared to my previous Windows Vista that took more than a minute. I am still learning more tips and tricks of Windows 7. I am just happy that I got everything back to what it was previous with my Windows Vista.
