Grandma’s 85th Birthday Dinner

I am recovering well enough to be able to start driving. My grandma was afraid I could not make it for her 85th birthday. It was more important for my brother and I to go since my parents are away in Japan on vacation. So my brother and I were representing our family. I did invite my girlfriend to go with me however she had a dance concert to attend to. So I had to drive the long journey to home to IMM Building, at the west of Singapore. I thought car park should not be an issue before going since I know the car park was quite huge. Gosh end up I had to wait 15 minutes for a car park. Everyone is parking their cars there before the first 3 hours was free parking. Even the restaurant was hard to find in the building. I was just not familiar with that place. Oh, we ate at Long Beach Seafood Restaurant.

The place was crowded. Then we still had to wonder what food to order. Normally it will be my mother who organise the birthday and would have even settled the menu before the day. So now that she was not around, we had to decide what to eat. We end up ordering their set menu for about $450 per table. We had two tables. After eating much of the dishes, we realised there was no “red meat” dish. So we wanted to add a chicken dish, but they ran out of chicken! We end up ordering pork. And that one dish cost $20! Most of the food was a little over salty and I would say nothing very fantastic.

So after the dinner, we had the traditional birthday cake cutting and family photo-taking. My grandma is 85 years old. So that is why the many candles on the cake. Erm 85 years old… gosh… that is old! And for me to think that I am old now. =X But then again, have to see what age I am comparing with. :)

Total bill came up to $905. The dinner was so not worth! =(
