I received my accessories for my Canon 550D that I purchased online. I was excited to see how I can play with this camera more. I bought a lens hood and pop-up flash diffuser. While I know how the lens hood can help in my photos, I did not know what a pop-up flash diffuser is for. Just done a little reading and I decided to buy it since it cost only $10. Just for the fun.

I end up being a little disappointed with the lens hood because I took shots to compare but seems no difference. But maybe because I was in my room and not much direct sunlight. So I cannot judge the uselessness of the lens hood as yet. But the pop-up flash diffuser is quite fun already! With the ability to switch around with the 3 different colors, my photos with flash turned out quite different. In fact the while one, I believe the one I will use most often, helps soften the flash effect on the object. Below are the 4 shots I took. All photos are flash enabled. Top left is the one without the diffuser. Bottom left is the one with the white diffuser. But don’t think you can see a lot of difference from that shot. But from the enlarged photo, I can see the difference. While the top right is with the orange diffuser and the bottom right is with the blue diffuser.

Can’t wait for another photo taking day out!
