With the Chinese New Year a day away, this is a time to just slow down on everything else and focus on family. (But seriously, work related matters are still lingering in my mind every day.) Pastor Kong reminded us that we should continue to honour our parents as the bible said in Ephesians 6:1-3.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

See, God already promised that should we honour our parents, we will be blessed and that we can live long on the earth with prosperity! Later part of the sermon, pastor went on to share on the acronym “F.A.M.I.L.Y” in which we can create a better atmosphere in the family.

• F = Forgiveness (Psalm 103:11-13)
• A = Affection (Ephesians 4:32)
• M = Mindfulness (Jeremiah 29:11)
• I = Integrity (Proverbs 20:7)
• L = Loyality (1 Peter 4:8)
• Y = Yieldedness (1 Timothy 5:1-2)

And if you notice, “F.A.M.I.L.Y” is also “Father And Mother I Love You“. Therefore, do spend this Chinese New Year for a time of good reunion bonding with your family and your relatives!

There are two tabernacles that the Bible mentioned. One is Moses’s Tabernacle while the other is David’s Tabernacle. You can find the comparison of these two tabernacle in the sermon note entitled “Tabernacle of David” preached by Rev. Dr. Kong Hee during City Harvest Church service two weeks ago. David’s tabernacle is so special because it is birth out of the great love of God. David love God more than anyone else. That is also how Jesus said we should love others.

(Matthew 22:37 NKJV) Jesus said to him, shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

Those 3 points can be link to David’s Tabernacle.

1. Worship (all your heart)
2. Prayer (all your soul)
3. Word of God (all your mind)

Even if you feel small and unnoticed, when you have wisdom, you will win every time.

According to the Bible, there are 4 little things on earth yet they are exceedingly wise. They are the:

1. Ants
2. Rock Badgers
3. Locusts
4. Spiders

Each of them are little in size yet possess the wisdom to overcome challenges it faces. In this sermon notes preached by Dr. Rev. Kong Hee at City Harvest Church during the weekend service of 18 September 2011, pastor shared about how we should learn to have these wisdoms in life too. Faith is really about trusting one another. You do not have faith with your friend, you basically do not have a good relationship with him/her. Likewise if you do not have faith in God, it is also very hard to have a relationship with Him.

Several weeks at City Harvest Church weekend service, Rev. Dr. Kong Hee preached about the 4 steps process that is required whenever one has to go through a deep change. He preached about Jacob from the Bible. Jacob was one of the most unlikely to succeed in life. He was one of the most imperfect person to ever live. Do you know that “Jacob” this name actually means a supplanter, grabber, scheming person?

Okay even if you feel you are successful in life, in what ways did you gain that success?

(Mark 8:36 NKJV)  For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

3. Confession
4. Conversion
