Dinner with Charmaine at New York New York

It was a meal that my god-sister Charmaine and I were supposed to have together long ago. But often when she wants to meet, I am either busy playing basketball else she is not free when I am. I wanted to play basketball too yesterday. “Fortunately” it was raining in the evening. Hence I could find time to meet with her to have dinner. I thought about just going to a hawker centre to eat. But she suggested New York New York because she wanted to eat steak. So much for wanting to budget my spending tighter because it is end of the month and that I have overspent this month. But after all it was once a while that I meet with her, so I did not mind. As long as we are happy! :)

First thing I noticed was that New York New York changed their menu. A whole new range of dishes to select from. I thought about eating their famous BBQ pork rips. But when I saw the Chicken Mushroom Mozzarella Melt, I knew I wanted that! And it was a choice I did not regret. In fact I really want to eat it again. It is a big portion of chicken topped with mozzarella cheese and mushroom. Delicious! However Charmaine did not really like the fish she ordered. The lemon sauce on top feels more like butter she said. And I did notice the prices for most dishes have increased. It used to be quite affordable to eat at New York New York. But now it seems more expensive. Kind of like Swensens’ pricing now. So I might have to avoid eating there with friends on any normal occasions for a meal. Unless with family or special occasion that is. But if you have the chance, must try their Chicken Mushroom Mozzarella Melt, especially if you are a cheese lover!

Oh another disappointing point was that, Charmaine still refuse to take photos! “Grrr!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Although not celebrated here in Singapore, I believe I have many viewers from United States and Canada. So I want to wish everyone from the other side of the planet, a very Happy Thanksgiving! Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude!

Alternative to PhotoBooth for Windows

Recently I posted a YouTube video about a funny Korean guy making funny faces. I learned that people made use of PhotoBooth that is available only on MAC. So while searching for such alternative software for Windows, I came across CyberLink YouCam. So if you are a Windows user looking for webcam software similar to PhotoBooth on MAC, try CyberLink YouCam 3!

Brittany is back! Another week looms…

Finally after 6 days of not playing basketball, I was able to play yesterday! It was such nice weather yesterday. Amazingly for the entire week that my dear Brittany was away for in Hong Kong, I was not able to play a single day till yesterday! Well she kept insisting she did not pray for the rainy days that kept me away from playing. “Haha!” I am trying to believe her though! Whatever the case, so nice to have her back safely and to give her the big hug again! Indeed 7 days past so quickly.

(That soft-toy isn’t for me. I still do not know what she bought for me.)

Anyway here are some photos of Singapore amazing sky taken on three different mornings as I was driving to school in my car. My car was stationary when I took it at a red light junction. I must mention that if not probably Brittany will scream at me again for not driving carefully. :D

Finally one photo of my new hair after I went for a cut yesterday.

Enjoy this coming new week!

My New Nike Kobe Bryant Shoes

Finally after 8 months of playing basketball with my first pair of Adidas shoes, the condition of the shoes is now quite unwearable. The soles of the shoes are nearly reduced to nothing. I find it had to run and grip my footing on the court. Worst yet if it rains, it is very dangerous. Here are my old shoes.

My dad agreed to sponsor me some money to buy my new pair of shoes long ago. But previously when I went to Queenway Shopping Centre to shop for shoes, I found nothing that I like. I wanted to try Nike instead of going back to Adidas. So I delayed buying my shoes until yesterday. I went there with Louis. And there was this new model that was not too bad looking. However Louis kept tempting me to buy the Kobe Bryant shoes. Comparing both prices the normal Nike one will cost $120 while the Kobe Bryant Nike one will cost $199. After shopping two rounds of the mall, I have decided to go for the Kobe Bryant one. This after I bargain the price down from $199 to $167. With my dad agreeing to sponsor $120 for me, I end up paying $47 from my own money for this new pair!

Special thanks to my dad willing to pay for me so much. I am excited to try my new shoes on the court however due to the monsoon rainy season; I have not been playing basketball for the past 4 days! Brittany (who is still in Hong Kong) must have been praying for the rain that I will not play basketball and hence not injure myself on the court. “Haha!” She will be back in 2 days!
