No longer is Louis considered a “teen” as he is out of the nineteen age, moving into his twenty’s stage in life! For me, I experienced that suddenly change in “oldness” 6 years ago. Yeah I am so old! Probably I am 26 in age, but 16 in mentality and heart. Or probably some friends might argue it should be 6 and not 16. Haha! Okay but that is not the point here. Happy 20th Birthday Louis! Together with some friends, we celebrated his birthday at my place by having steamboat for dinner. The second year running that we are doing the same thing for his birthday. Almost the same friends attended but some, who made it last year, did not make it this year. While Darryl was the new inclusion to the celebration! (While of course, he had the most budget to sponsor. Hehe!) In fact, Darryl sponsored the entire birthday cake for the celebration!

I think the fun thing about having steamboat is that we are able to go out to shop for the food we want to buy. But again for the second year running again, we over bought food. I still find it hard to estimate how much food to buy. Considering that last year we had more big-eaters in the house compared to yesterday. Hence there was quite a lot of uncooked food that I had to keep to cook next time. I was surprised that we managed to finish the cake considering a few of them could not eat due to some personal reasons.

Now I want to thank those who came to help me make the dinner a success, a happy one for Louis. My initiate plan was to have BBQ instead where I invited over 30 friends. But because the pit was not available, that plan was changed to this steamboat. And due to the space constrain in my house, I could not invite that huge number of friends over. Hence I tried to invite back those who were around the last time round too. :) All the photos taken are uploaded to Facebook and can be found under my profile.

It was quite some time since a group of us went out to eat together. So thanks to Louis, Chee Hoong, Edward, Brittany and Amanda who made it for this dinner. I did SMS out few other friends but apparently they did not receive my SMS. And I do feel quite bad. =X But it was not on purpose if you know who you are. We can always go out again to eat soon! :)

The present did not come as any surprise for me though. Because she was having a hard time thinking of what to buy for me. So I gave her the suggestion of what I need. But still I appreciate her taking the time off to go shop for it! And if anyone still wants to give me a present, I want a new wireless keyboard and mouse now cause my keyboard, my left Ctrl button is faulty! “Ahh! =D Any kind soul?“

Special thanks to Brittany who called me early last night to sing me a birthday song before she went to sleep. So did “Mei Mei” Amanda who wished me before she went to sleep early because she was not feeling well. And to Yun Ting and Hui Ting who wished me until this point of time when I am blogging. I believe there will be more wishes but I can’t list them here though. But still, “Thanks to everyone who wished me!“

Earlier in the afternoon, I went to buy the food with Louis, Chee Hoong and Brittany. My mom had already bought some food for us. But I felt it was not enough. So after checking with Louis and Chee Hoong, we decided we needed more. Special thanks to them 3 for following me to buy the food and much of the preparation work. Friends started to arrive later that evening. Got a chance to meet up with my good friend who came despite not knowing many of my other friends. Thanks to my god-sister Amanda for bringing her sister Matilda and cousin Serea over too. And of course thanks to other friends like Edward, Russell and Derrick who joined us too. I believed I mentioned everyone who came!

I did feel quite bad for Chee Hoong because it seemed more like celebrating my birthday rather than co-hosting it with him. He received one present from the group while I received about 4, from individual friends. Nevertheless he mentioned he will be having his own buffet party too on another day. Of course he needs to have another party because this year he will hit the milestone for 21st birthday! Surely he needs a better celebration!

Once again, thanks for all who took time off to come and enjoy the celebrations for me!

Unfortunately it was not 2-for-1 pizza like many pizza brands nowadays. But because of the promotion of the second regular pizza at only $0.10, it was as good as 2-for-1! Hence we did not mind trying. So we ordered 4 9″ pizzas with two of it costing only $0.10 each. Together with a bottle of 1.5l of Coke and two boxes of garlic cheese onion rings, we paid about $55.  We tried both the classic hand tossed and crunchy thin crust, both crusts were good! Top left: Classic Pepperoni – All time favorite with generous portions of beef pepperoni and 100% mozzarella cheese.

Top right: Classified Chicken – Succulent smoked chicken breast, fresh onions and mushrooms.

Bottom left: Hawaiian Paradise – 100% mozzarella cheese with succulent smoked chicken breast, turkey ham and juicy pineapples.

Bottom right: Meatzza – Smoked chicken breast, turkey ham, chicken sausage, cabanossi, beef pepperoni and ground beef.

All of the above 4 were very good! If I am to pick a “must-try”, I would say the Classified Chicken. Because it is not tomato sauce based, I really like the taste of this! Meatzza is really stuffed with a lot of meat while the other two are more common flavors.

Louis and I are already planning to eat again, at least before the promotions are over. You can find their promotion coupons at their official website – www.dominos.com.sg. I expect Dominos to give Pizza Hut a good competition!
