I did not sleep well the night before. Because I kept thinking to myself about what should I do if my fever does not subside? How can I leave them both to go out themselves? Even though I know they will not mind but I mind! So even hour I kept waking up and indeed I did not feel any better the next morning when I woke up. My fever was still around but I was determined to still go out. Even though I may very well make my condition worse because it was a day full of walking as planned. It was a planned day for shopping! So I kept telling myself, “I am good!” I did feel better after breakfast though. For this day, I did not drive and I wanted them to experience the trains in Singapore.

First stop we went to was Bugis. In particular Bugis Street. Shops after shops where they can probably buy stuff they wanted at a lower price than anywhere else we might be going to shop. And I am glad they did buy things from them. Else it would feel so waste of time going. In fact it was Christina who shopped more, for the entire trip. She bought herself a hat that she likes. She said such a hat would cost RM40 back in Malaysia. While she bought one here for only $10. She also wanted a white coat but unfortunately she could not find one that she likes.

Even when we crossed over to Bugis Junction, Christina bought herself a hand-made cat pencil case. Those made of cloth. Again to me it was expensive but she said it was cheap compared to the prices in Malaysia. For lunch, we went to Mos Burger. Lee Xiang brother told her she must try Mos Burger because they do not have it in Malaysia. For me, it was many years ago that I last went Mos Burger. I avoided the place because of the small sized burger and yet costly. But in the span of 7 days, we went there twice! Today was just once of the twice. They ordered two burgers each while I ate a complete meal. Erm, alright my thoughts of Mos Burger changed. It is nice but I still do feel it is a bit expensive for the size. But I will not mind going back to eat again (that is why I agreed to go back the second time later). :)

By the afternoon, my fever has subsided completely! But I am still having this sore throat. But as long as the fever was gone, it is good. So we continued on with our shopping trip. We took the train from Bugis to Orchard. Alighted at Orchard and from Orchard, we walked down the entire stretch all the way to Plaza Singapura. A total of 3 train stations. We only stopped by a few shopping centres though. One of which was Ngee Ann City where I brought them to Kinokuniya followed by Art Friend. There in Art Friend, Christina went crazy and kept saying how cheap the art stuff was! After much shopping, she bought stuff costing her almost $100!

We left Ngee Ann City and continued on. Along the way, Lee Xiang stopped by to buy ice-cream from an uncle on a motorcycle. It was their first time seeing ice-cream being sold this way. For a cheap $1, Lee Xiang bought and ice-cream that she ate along the way. So while Christina spent on art, Lee Xiang managed to get a CD by Matisyahu from HMV she wanted. She said Matisyahu albums are banned in Malaysia because is a Jewish band. She was luckily because HMV had only one last copy!

Our last stop was to Plaza Singapura. Just outside the mall was Gong Cha bubble tea shop. They have a branch nearby where I work but I never try it before. So I decided to try it then. Erm, not too bad. But did not taste anything special though. In Plaza Singapura, I wanted to bring them into Spot Light and Made with Love shop where Christina can look at her art stuff. But they were bought closed. As for Lee Xiang, she did not find the Lego she was particularly looking for to buy for her brother. Both Bricks World shops at Ngee City and Plaza Singapura have not brought in this latest collection. Nevertheless, we did shop at Daiso where Christina once again bought some items.

And that was the last stop of the day before we took the train and headed home. I was dead tired! Or rather, we all were! But it was a fruitful day of shopping! :)

For this month’s Sakae’s blog entry, I travelled to Bugis to have lunch with Louis at Sakae Teppanyaki! He wanted to go Bugis to buy a pair of jeans from Bugis Street. So on the same day, we dropped by Sakae Tappanyaki to have lunch. Unlike the previous times we went, we always ordered Beef Lunch Set. This visit, we tried something different. While he ate the Chicken Lunch Set, I ate the Venison Lunch Set. Since they changed their menu few months ago, there was no more Duck Set. I would not have mind that because the duck is really nice. Nevertheless, the venison was just as good. And for the price of $11.99, the Venison Set Lunch included salad, cuttlefish, assorted vegetables, rice and soup.

The egg you see in the above photo is Teppan Seafood Chawanmushi. Now, that is a must-try dish! Previously there were set lunch that included that dish. But now you can order that from the ala-carte menu for $3.99. The quality of the food is still superb! Therefore all my experiences with Sakae Teppanyaki have been good!

Craving to try this now? :)

There were two days for the past two weeks that I spent shopping with Louis for Chinese New Year clothing. First time round we went to Orchard and I only bought a single shirt from Far East Plaza. I could not find much at Orchard. The following week we went to Bugis where I normally get my clothing for the past years. So again I bought the rest of the clothing I needed at Bugis Village and Bugis Junction.

The top left shift was bought from Domanchi in Bugis Junction. It was a nice piece and having 20% discount. Then I bought a Kobe Bryant t-shirt from B.I.R.D. Okay actually that and the next yellow shirt are not really for Chinese New Year. But because I wanted a Kobe Bryant t-shirt and more yellow shirts, so I bought both yellow. Bought a long pant from Messy in Bugis Village and so is another short pants. That pair of white shoes cost me only $29.90! I did buy a pair of white shoes at Tampines 1 not too long ago. Did not know why I spent to buy another pair. But I like this with the brown and since it was not too expensive, I bought it. Oh not forgetting the first ever pair of jeans I bought myself from Uniqlo! I really hate jeans but decided to give it a try since Louis said, “It’s a must to have one pair!” Now then I realised I forgot to take photo of the first shirt I bought from Orchard.

Oh well anyway I spent about $277.90 in total. Are you done with your Chinese New Year shopping? :)

Often the Lunar New Year will fall in this month, Valentine’s Day (although I do not celebrate this day being single) and most importantly, MY BIRTHDAY! Err, okay maybe not as important as Lunar New Year since during that holidays can collect red packet = money! :) I am still not done shopping for my New Year clothing although I bought a couple already. Planning to go Bugis one of this day in this week to shop. And will be looking forward to this coming Saturday birthday steamboat celebrations with few friends at my house! I pray that all will go well!

Have a good start to February!
