Last Saturday, I had to go out for my Chinese New Year shopping of clothing. But in my attempt to ask my friends out to shop with, none responded. Thankfully the one friend who responded managed to make an impromptu decision to shop with me. So I am thankful that my god-sister Charmaine agreed! By then it was already 5pm. So we met an hour later. Instead of going to Bugis Street to shop, a place I go to yearly, I decided to try out the heartland shopping centre this year. So just one train station away was Nex Shopping Mall. As huge as the mall is, there are so few shops selling guys’ stuff! So many shops are like only girls fashion stuff. There was this one guys’ fashion shop that I manage to buy two shirts from.

Both of that cost me $80, one for $35 while the other was $45. There were also two t-shirts that I thought was not too bad. But I wanted to shop around to see if I can find others. However when I found nothing and decided to go back to the shop to buy, one of the two t-shirts was sold! And because it was 2 for $30, I decided to not bad. So unlucky! So now I only have two shirts and no t-shirts.

I also bought a new bottle perfume. The current Hugo Boss Energize I am using, is going to run out soon. I wanted to try another kind of perfume since I have used this for quite long. I was looking for something that could last longer through the day. After much smelling, I decided to go for this brand I never heard before.

Err, I am not sure even if Paco Rabanne is the brand or Ultraviolet Man is the brand. Well my guess is Ultraviolet Man is the perfume name while Paco Rabanne is the brand? Hehe! That bottle cost me $79. Moving on, I bought a pair of working shoes from Bata. I like Bata’s new range of flexible shoes because it is so comfortable to wear. I will probably replace my current black shoes with this pair after the Chinese New Year.

That pair cost $69. So far I spent about $240. But I still do need to buy pants, be it formal or informal pants. Or maybe just one more pair of jeans. The t-shirts are still not so important since I feel I have lesser chance to wear t-shirts as I should be going into the workforce after graduating. That is why I need to do more shopping and hence my blog topic is “thus far”.

Where to shop next? :)

Who will want to shop with me next? :)

Oh and finally, “Thanks Charmaine sister for going out with me! :)“

It was a meal that my god-sister Charmaine and I were supposed to have together long ago. But often when she wants to meet, I am either busy playing basketball else she is not free when I am. I wanted to play basketball too yesterday. “Fortunately” it was raining in the evening. Hence I could find time to meet with her to have dinner. I thought about just going to a hawker centre to eat. But she suggested New York New York because she wanted to eat steak. So much for wanting to budget my spending tighter because it is end of the month and that I have overspent this month. But after all it was once a while that I meet with her, so I did not mind. As long as we are happy! :)

First thing I noticed was that New York New York changed their menu. A whole new range of dishes to select from. I thought about eating their famous BBQ pork rips. But when I saw the Chicken Mushroom Mozzarella Melt, I knew I wanted that! And it was a choice I did not regret. In fact I really want to eat it again. It is a big portion of chicken topped with mozzarella cheese and mushroom. Delicious! However Charmaine did not really like the fish she ordered. The lemon sauce on top feels more like butter she said. And I did notice the prices for most dishes have increased. It used to be quite affordable to eat at New York New York. But now it seems more expensive. Kind of like Swensens’ pricing now. So I might have to avoid eating there with friends on any normal occasions for a meal. Unless with family or special occasion that is. But if you have the chance, must try their Chicken Mushroom Mozzarella Melt, especially if you are a cheese lover!

Oh another disappointing point was that, Charmaine still refuse to take photos! “Grrr!“

I spent my Friday yesterday with Charmaine, the new friend I made thanks to Helena that day when she came to play basketball. After having lunch with her at Yoshinoya, we came back to my place. Together we watched the movie Saw 5. I have never watched any movie of Saw before and this is really quite a horror one. Quite disgusted by how those people were killed, the bloody scenes and even the good guy have to die so horribly in the end. Thankfully the horror movie is not how our afternoon was spent! It was great having her company now as my god-sister! Bought her 5 boxes of strawberry Pocky and even a tube of Meiji Gummy Choco. But when she checked the ingredients inside the gummy, there were traces of choco. Something she is allergic too. She did not realize it at first when buying. Still she gave it a try. Only to develop slight rashes at the end of the day.

Even though I have way over spent my allowance for the month of March thanks to this new graphics card and a new set of speakers I bought…

That did not stop me from wanting to go out to spend time with her or even any friends. Especially since I am on holidays now. I was forced into buying the graphics card because mine was faulty thanks to the black-outs that happened last week. My computer was running on all the black-outs that caused my graphics card to spoil. (If you have the money, please go invest for a UPS! It will save you this cost like I did now next time when black-out happens.) So did my speakers that failed to power on. Together I spent over $240 at Sim Lim Square. And with my new Adidas shoes I bought last week and my church’s building funds, I have exceeded my allowance budget for March in just a week since March started. “So anyone wants to spare some donations? I accept PayPal donations! New button on the bottom left column.“

Then last night before I slept, I received a SMS from “Mei Mei” Sien Wei! Probably one of the most touching SMS I received compared to any I received this week. She said, “bryan kor, sorry 4 nt being able 2 go out wif u 4 so long. nw i finding a job. once im free i ask u out 4 a meal =) take cares“. Aww! So touched that she still remembers me despite her busy schedules. I am easily please right? Seriously her one simple SMS like that meant so much! Just like the necklace my special friend Crystal gave me. All the simple acts to let me know I am being treasured and the feeling is truly amazing!

“I look forward to meeting you all friends (even though I am tight on budget)!“

“Moody Monday” will not be the term used for yesterday I started the week. Was looking forward to this day as I have invited Helena over to play basketball since quite some time ago. At 4:00pm when I checked the next 3 hours forecast, it was said to be partly cloudy. So I knew it was going to be good weather as it will not be hot and will not rain. I was at Cafe Cartel accompanying Louis to have his late lunch. After that we drove to Punggol to fetch Helena. Together we came back to my place and started to play basketball. Before we started, we took a photo. And that is Helena showing off her colored nails.

Thankfully we took before we started because not too long into playing, the rain started to come down hard. That was when I suddenly begin to feel it was a “Moody Monday” after all. With no backup plan and not wanting to waste Helena’s trip, three of us went to the gym to do some work out. Then Helena also invited her friend over. Her name is Charmaine. Thankfully she was easy to get along with too! We chatted while as we were back at my place. After we took turns to shower, we camped in my room for a while. Chatting, playing games and eating Pocky! Then we left my place quite late for dinner. We were really undecided to where to go for dinner. From Heartland Mall to Hougang Mall and Louis suddenly suggested Popeyes at Changi Airport Terminal 3. And with both the girls agreeing too, there was where we went for dinner.

Too bad Charmaine is another camera-shy girl so I refuse to take photo. So after dinner I drove them all home one after another. It was a great day that despite the original plans did not go as planned but God still made all things good! And for the second week in a row, here is another rainbow to end this blog entry. Look closely, it is actually double rainbow again!
