During the Chinese New Year weekend service at City Harvest Church yesterday, pastor preached on the topic of “Loving Your Family“. It was a good sermon but I did not bring my laptop to copy notes. So I just want to share briefly with what I copied on my phone.

With the Chinese New Year a day away, this is a time to just slow down on everything else and focus on family. (But seriously, work related matters are still lingering in my mind every day.) Pastor Kong reminded us that we should continue to honour our parents as the bible said in Ephesians 6:1-3.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

See, God already promised that should we honour our parents, we will be blessed and that we can live long on the earth with prosperity! Later part of the sermon, pastor went on to share on the acronym “F.A.M.I.L.Y” in which we can create a better atmosphere in the family.

F = Forgiveness (Psalm 103:11-13)

A = Affection (Ephesians 4:32)

M = Mindfulness (Jeremiah 29:11)

I = Integrity (Proverbs 20:7)

L = Loyality (1 Peter 4:8)

Y = Yieldedness (1 Timothy 5:1-2)

And if you notice, “F.A.M.I.L.Y” is also “Father And Mother I Love You“. Therefore, do spend this Chinese New Year for a time of good reunion bonding with your family and your relatives!

I hope everyone enjoyed the super long holiday last week to celebrate Chinese New Year. For me, I actually only went visitations on the first day. The usual places as always. I brought my camera everywhere I went but apparently there was nothing much for me to take. So here are just a little photos from the reunion dinner during the eve of Chinese New Year. My family instead of having dinner at the restaurant, we decided on having buffet style instead. Mainly because we can eat at our own pace and timing. Unlike restaurant where they have a time frame that we must finish our food. I quite like buffet style because it also means that dinner can be done and over with quicker! :)

So the one and only photo I took during visitation was one with my cousin Pristina at her house. :)

Hope you had a good Chinese New Year! :)

My final round of shopping for Chinese New Year. Last week I went out with Charmaine to Nex Shopping Mall, which was a last minute arrangement to meet. This time round, it is also another last minute arrangement to go out with Timothy. Actually was supposed to go out with Sarah. But she insisted on wanting to go AMK Hub while I needed to go Tampines area. So she went ahead herself and me likewise. Thankfully Timothy always seems to be available for me when I need someone. I was shocked when I met with him at Tampines Mall as he has grown taller than me! Seeing him growing up through the years from 12 to 16, it is quite amazing we can still get along!

Anyway I needed to go Tampines because the two shops I wanted to shop at are in the same location – Crocs and Uniqlo. I cannot think of anywhere else that has these two shops at the same location. I was also shopping for gifts for my colleagues at work as I will be ending my 5-month long internship on Wednesday! (YES FINALLY! Will blog another time about it.) There are the three shopping malls at Tampines. We shopped all three of it. End of the short 2 hours of shopping, I bought a pair of pants from Uniqlo, a pair of Crocs shoes and two gifts. =)

I do not have photo of the pants because it is still at the shop for alteration, collection only another day. I was deciding between getting a Converse canvas shoes or Crocs shoes. I already have a Crocs slip-on shoes and I know it is very comfortable. I did see a pair of Converse canvas shoes I like. Very similar to the Crocs one in fact. But when I saw Crocs having this latest range of canvas shoes, I decided to buy Crocs instead. So much lighter in weight and comfortable! Although the price is $90.90 compared to Converse $69.90. But still that is only $20 difference to get a more comfortable pair. Although I also know that Crocs is super overpriced. Well, I was given the budget to spend, so I might as well spend it! :)

Yes I chose red color! My first pair of red shoes! And the one person whom keeps flashing across my mind when I see that shoes is… Christina! Why? :P Weird. So anyway I failed to buy a pair of bermudas and any t-shirts. Well maybe some last minute shopping before Chinese New Year? Will see about it! :) So far I spent about $340 of my budget. Should be alright. :)
