Together with Louis, Chee Hoong and Edward, we drove to a place known as Bedok 85 to have lunch. I thought of bringing them to the hawker centre at Bedok interchange to eat. But Edward suggested Bedok 85. I did not mind since I have not been there to eat before. Our plan was actually to eat Seoul Garden. But we decided to eat cheap instead. So it cannot get any cheaper than eating at hawker centre. Anyway it was just a normal lunch out. No special day. Here are some photos I took.

On the way back, I saw this cute cat that was lying on a cupboard. I wanted to take more photos of it but I was afraid to scare it. So it was just a few shots I took. Yet quite disappointingly, it seems like I did not focus on the cat. Aww! :(

That’s all for this post! :)

I warmly welcome BBQ Chicken to Heartland Mall! Another option of the choice of restaurant to dine in to eat with friends. And their opening must have spell trouble for New York New York (NYNY) at the same level. Sometime ago I ever blog about NYNY getting too expensive to causal dine in with friends. And with their refusal to have student meals to attract students like myself, even more will find competition so much tougher now. With just $7.90 nett, I can have a complete meal at BBQ Chicken. But at NYNY, I have to spend minimum of $10 to get a not-complete meal (without drink). So yeah, I am happy that BBQ Chicken is now at Heartland Mall! And just within their few days of opening, I am there with my basketball friends to eat dinner!

It was quite some time since a group of us went out to eat together. So thanks to Louis, Chee Hoong, Edward, Brittany and Amanda who made it for this dinner. I did SMS out few other friends but apparently they did not receive my SMS. And I do feel quite bad. =X But it was not on purpose if you know who you are. We can always go out again to eat soon! :)

Everything with Fries is actually the name of a restaurant. They were featured on television some time ago. But it was only yesterday that I got the chance to try out the food. Together with Louis and Edward, we drove to the restaurant to eat. Louis and I wanted to eat last Monday, but they are closed on Mondays. We drove to the branch at Joo Chiat Road. They recently opened a new branch at Holland Village.

From the name of the restaurant, can tell that anything you order under the “mains” section, you would be served with their specialty fries. You get to choose from 4 flavours – Original; Curry; Salt and Vinegar; Sour Cream and Onion. There is one more flavour of Garlic and Herbs but that would be additional cost to that. Each “mains”, you also get to choose a starter between Coleslaw or Baby Caesar Salad.

So each of us ordered different food to try. While I ate their grilled pork chop ($13.90), Louis ate Lamb Burger ($9.90) and Edward ate Cheese Burger ($9.90). I would say we all agree that the food taste good. All the meat servings were thick. For me, I have never eaten such a thick pork chop before. Even the coleslaw taste good! We spent an average of $20 per person because we also ordered a dessert each. I ate the 7-Layered Dark Chocolate Cake ($5.90), Louis ate the Nutella Tart ($4.90) and Edward ate the Poached Pear with Ice Cream ($3.90). Probably the most not-worth one will be Edward’s one. Because it is just a pear and a scope of ice cream that should not cost so much. Nevertheless, we were generally happy with the food..

You should try it when you can! You can find out more at their website – www.everythingwithfries.com.

The last time I invited friends over to my place for steamboat was last year to celebrate Louis’s birthday. Yesterday once again, I invited my friends over to celebrate my birthday, two weeks early. My birthday falls on 17th February, which would be the Chinese New Year week. While next Saturday is eve of Chinese New Year, so everyone will be eating their reunion dinner with family. Hence, that is why for the early celebrations. However yesterday steamboat was not just to celebrate my birthday but also Chee Hoong’s birthday – whose birthday is a day after mine.

Earlier in the afternoon, I went to buy the food with Louis, Chee Hoong and Brittany. My mom had already bought some food for us. But I felt it was not enough. So after checking with Louis and Chee Hoong, we decided we needed more. Special thanks to them 3 for following me to buy the food and much of the preparation work. Friends started to arrive later that evening. Got a chance to meet up with my good friend who came despite not knowing many of my other friends. Thanks to my god-sister Amanda for bringing her sister Matilda and cousin Serea over too. And of course thanks to other friends like Edward, Russell and Derrick who joined us too. I believed I mentioned everyone who came!

I did feel quite bad for Chee Hoong because it seemed more like celebrating my birthday rather than co-hosting it with him. He received one present from the group while I received about 4, from individual friends. Nevertheless he mentioned he will be having his own buffet party too on another day. Of course he needs to have another party because this year he will hit the milestone for 21st birthday! Surely he needs a better celebration!

B: Tweety Bird from Jiayun
C: Chocolates from Matilda & Serea
D: Photo frame from Derrick’s Mom

And more photos…

Once again, thanks for all who took time off to come and enjoy the celebrations for me!

It was many years ago that Dominos closed operations in Singapore. However after almost a decade, they are back in 2010! Back then, I did not even get a chance to try their pizza. Few days ago while driving home, I spotted their new outlet under renovation just 200 metres away from where I lived. Then it was not long that the shop opened for business! So after playing basketball with my friends; Louis, Edward, Brittany, Amanda and I, we decided to try Dominos! It was also the first time Amanda joined us for dinner after basketball.

Unfortunately it was not 2-for-1 pizza like many pizza brands nowadays. But because of the promotion of the second regular pizza at only $0.10, it was as good as 2-for-1! Hence we did not mind trying. So we ordered 4 9″ pizzas with two of it costing only $0.10 each. Together with a bottle of 1.5l of Coke and two boxes of garlic cheese onion rings, we paid about $55. We tried both the classic hand tossed and crunchy thin crust, both crusts were good! From the top photo of 4 pizzas:

Top left: Classic Pepperoni – All time favorite with generous portions of beef pepperoni and 100% mozzarella cheese.

Top right: Classified Chicken – Succulent smoked chicken breast, fresh onions and mushrooms.

Bottom left: Hawaiian Paradise – 100% mozzarella cheese with succulent smoked chicken breast, turkey ham and juicy pineapples.

Bottom right: Meatzza – Smoked chicken breast, turkey ham, chicken sausage, cabanossi, beef pepperoni and ground beef.

All of the above 4 were very good! If I am to pick a “must-try”, I would say the Classified Chicken. Because it is not tomato sauce based, I really like the taste of this! Meatzza is really stuffed with a lot of meat while the other two are more common flavors.

Louis and I are already planning to eat again, at least before the promotions are over. You can find their promotion coupons at their official website – www.dominos.com.sg. I expect Dominos to give Pizza Hut a good competition!
