Although not celebrated here in Singapore, I believe I have many viewers from United States and Canada. So I want to wish everyone from the other side of the planet, a very Happy Thanksgiving! Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude!

Renewing Friendship with Jiayun!

The last time I met with Jiayun was almost one year ago – at my house to celebrate her 15th birthday. Despite the lack of meeting with her, we often address each other as “haopengyou” (‘good friends’ in Chinese). We have constantly said we will find time to meet each other when possible. This year she is having her ‘O’ levels. Therefore opportunities are even fewer with most of her time committed to her studies. Glad she still found time out yesterday to meet with me. She came my house after her supplementary lessons in school. All we done at my place was really to catch up with each other life. Glad she never found it bored just to come and spend time together instead of going out.

But going out we did! It was when Louis suddenly asked me if I wanted to accompany him to buy contact lenses. So I asked if Jiayun want to go together and she did not mind. She did meet Louis once before for a brief moment previously when I went to Jiayun’s school to collect a gift from her. A drive-pass collect thing. We had to travel on public transport today because my brother was using my car. After lunch together, we went to few optical shops. Finally landed in Spectacles Hut in Hougang Mall. And while Louis was busy with his contact lenses, Jiayun and I were playing around with the spectacles.

After Louis was done, we walked to his place to take his basketball attire to play later in the evening. Took the chance to see his house. Knowing him so long, never been up to his house before. Then he introduced us his new dog – Butter!

That was all for the day as Louis and I walked her to the bus stop for her to take bus home. While we went home by bus too.

Happy Easter! Jesus Has Risen!

“Hallelujah!” Jesus died for us on the cross over 2000 years ago. And 3 days later, He rose from the dead to conquered death to destroy the power of sin! So what are you weeping for today?

Are you weeping because of sickness & disease?
Are you weeping because of financial burden?
Are you weeping because of emotional despair?
Are you weeping because of the sin in your soul?

I bring to you this week short sermon notes on the above 4 points that was preached by Pastor Kong at City Harvest Church during the Easter services. Because of Easter, you will be able to find comfort out of your soul. But most important question is, “Whom are you seeking for?“
