Upon reaching the restaurant, we were shocked to see that the queue was so long! We got into the queue and started counting the number of groups in front of us. It was up to 10! So we expected to wait like an hour before we can get a table. However it was just 20 minutes of waiting and we got our table. Nevertheless, the food still took about 30 minutes before we started to eat.

I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki; Chanel ate Spaghetti with Salmon; Xin Yun ate Grill Fish with Herbs and Kenneth ate a simple Chicken Burger. All the food again was good! I am just surprised the Chicken Burger did not come with any fries. Just the burger alone, I felt it should have some fries to go along. At least it will improve the presentation of the dish too. Anyway, it was nice to be able to enjoy a dinner with my friends. I wish every of my Saturdays can be spent with friends, just to catch up with one another and stay in contact. That is why I am so appreciative when my friends want to spend time with me! :)

So here are some photos from that day. Haha I feel guilty for the first set of photos before it was my idea to throw Kenneth into the pool. The friends failed on the first attempt to grabbed hold of Kenneth. But after a “proper planning”, they went for the second attempt and succeeded.

Then while Kenneth was bathing at Derrick’s house, the friends hide his shoes up on a ledge. That jersey (top left of the below photo) was a gift to him from Derrick, Darren and Ian. They wanted to put number “1″. But I suggested “13″ because is his 13th Birthday. So the “13″ will remind Kenneth that it was a present for him on his 13th birthday.

Next set of photos are taken by Tiffany who took my camera to the basketball court while I camped in the function room. Here are friends playing basketball.

Finally of course we have the official birthday cake, singing Kenneth birthday song (he is like shy to the max) and him cutting cake.

Names first … Chanel, Shi Ting, Xinyun, Joycelyn, Weiyi and Chun Min went to VivoCity and spent the afternoon there. While Chanel was disappointed I did not go, it was because I had some plans with Kenneth. Met with Kenneth and we went to recce Nex Shopping Mall for a place for the birthday celebrations is to take place later after dinner. Dinner was already booked at Ministry Of Food to eat Japanese. So after we done what we needed at Nex, we took the train to VivoCity. It was there we surprised Chanel for our sudden appearance! :)

See that top right photo in the collage, that is a priceless photo that words cannot describe how Chanel felt when Kenneth approached her from the back. Love that photo! So we spent couple of hours taking photos at VivoCity, sitting around to chat and they were playing with Chun Min’s balls sweets. :) Then when it was time to leave VivoCity, Tiffany joined us from there before we took the train back to Nex Shopping Mall. And it was there we met with the last two friends – Derrick and Darren.

After dinner, it was time for the final surprise I had for Chanel. It was another tensed time for me as I tried to organized everything. Looking for place to settle down and running between two groups of friends to get everything to fit nicely. And with Chanel blind-folded, Kenneth walked up to Chanel with the birthday cake in his arms. :) Then we sang birthday song for Chanel and so many people were looking at us from the Sky Garden floor. It was quite epic fun throughout all. Although at times it was really very childish or the behavior was bad to say the least. :) At least all got home safely and had fun (I hope)! :)

Thanks everyone for coming out to celebrate Chanel’s 13th birthday! Your attendance means a lot. Without you friends, this outing will not be possible. I want to specially thank to Shi Ting whom helped me to organize plans at VivoCity while I was planning with Kenneth. Without her, things will probably be quiet in the afternoon. In fact, Shi Ting knows none of Chanel’s friend before today. Yet she was willing to come out and mix with new friends. And in the process really helped me a lot. :)

I hope all of you had a good time, especially YOU Chanel! :)

They sure look young right? Because they are! :) As I said they are all Derrick’s friends whom I know since they come often to my place to play basketball. Young (like them) or old (like me), we are still happy to be friends! Thankfully they are fine with having aunty around too and that aunty treats them like her own. :)

At least they were willing to have a dinner with me! =) Then I was shocked when the staff brought out a birthday cake for me. Apparently aunty must have bought it earlier before I was there. I was really shocked and quite embarrassed since they were singing birthday song for me! “Haha!” It felt strange but strangely nice. :)

As for my current ball, I decided to pass it on and give it to Kenneth. Kenneth, whom got into basketball as his CCA in school, does not have a ball to play with when he is free. So since he does not mind my ball, I gave it to him. Oh this new ball cost only $32.90 compared to the expensive Molten or Spalding ball that may cost up to $70. :)
