This “Fast-Food Day” was planned weeks ago, before my fever. So I was quite fearful of this plan actually. But since I recovered from my fever and that I still wanted this plan to go ahead, I decided to not back out. After all, it was the day that Tiffany & Xin Yun finished their last paper for their mid-year examinations. “Fast-Food Day” was basically us having fast-food meals all-day! So we started the day with breakfast at KFC. We met at Kovan, Heartland Mall after they went home to change clothes after examinations. It was Xin Yun first time eating KFC’s A.M. Twister meal for breakfast. She did not know to choose the “American” or “Original” flavor. But she went with “American” flavor it has hash-brown inside. :)

After breakfast, we came back to my place just for a little while then we drove out. We drove to AMK Hub where we spent the next few hours. We bought tickets to watch The Detective 2 the movie. While they wanted to watch Thor, I watched that already with Geraldine at my place last week. And while I wanted to watch Fast & Furious 5, Xin Yun watched it already. Hence that was why we landed up watching a Mandarin movie – The Detective 2. It was not too bad after all. 3 of us shared a box of sweet pop-corns and drink. We also shared our food at Mos Burger where we ate late lunch after the movie. We shared fries and they introduced me to Butterfly Prawns. It was really nice! Now seems like I have to buy that when I go Mos Burger again!

After lunch, we walked around AMK Hub for a while before we headed home. Back at my place, we watched the finale of Survivor together. All through for hours even up to the reunion show. But had to stop halfway through the reunion show because if we did not leave for dinner, Xin Yun was running late to get home. I thought we should end the day on a good meal so I decided to eat at BBQ Chicken. Still considered fast-food right? :) I treated them to dinner. Well, everyone happy can already! :) I had to eat portions of their meal because they could not finish. We were all so full from all the eating all day. After dinner, I waited with them at the bus stop for their bus. Then we all went home. :)

I feel fat now and I want to play basketball the next chance when I can! :)

The initial plan was for me to invite Derrick and his friends for my birthday dinner at BBQ Chicken. BBQ Chicken because they had student meals that they, the younger ones can afford at the cost of $10 and below. But Derrick’s mum contacted me to ask if she can buy me dinner as she wanted to do so all along. Since I did not want to turn her down, I agreed and the venue was changed to New York New York. Both places are within Heartland Mall though. I also told aunty to bring Joy, Derrick’s younger sister along then. :) With the arrangements all planned, we went ahead with the dinner last night.

They sure look young right? Because they are! :) As I said they are all Derrick’s friends whom I know since they come often to my place to play basketball. Young (like them) or old (like me), we are still happy to be friends! Thankfully they are fine with having aunty around too and that aunty treats them like her own. :)

At least they were willing to have a dinner with me! =) Then I was shocked when the staff brought out a birthday cake for me. Apparently aunty must have bought it earlier before I was there. I was really shocked and quite embarrassed since they were singing birthday song for me! “Haha!” It felt strange but strangely nice. :)

In group photo from left to right: Tiffany, Derrick, Me, Chanel and Kenneth. Not in photo were aunty and Joy. =) Once again, thank you all for taking the time out to have dinner with me. And thanks aunty for paying for everyone! :)

No good times last forever? :( Blink of an eye, 6 days past. Reminds me of the song “Gone Too Soon”. But that song was sang when Michael Jackson left this world. Do I make it sound like they are going to die? Certainly not I hope! “Hehe!” But it did felt like they are going to somewhere far away. :( Anyway with the morning hours left for us to spend together, we took the time to take some photos within my condo.

After the photo taking, it was time to say bye to my place for one last time. We returned to my place and they made their final check on any items left behind. Loaded their bags into my car and off we left. We went to have one last meal opposite at the hawker centre. And with Christina’s last meal; she officially had only $2 left after coming over with $600, that is more than 1000RM spent here in Singapore in a span of 7 days. While Lee Xiang still had over $100 left since she did not have much to buy for herself. Even the Lego she wanted for her brother, had no stock. Then we proceeded to Tanjong Pagar Train Station.

We camped in my car for almost 45 minutes waiting for time to pass. And when the time finally came for them to cross the gate, that was the toughest moment for me! Hugging both of them to say our good byes. I so very much wanted to cry but I held back. However when they eventually went in, tears broke out and flowed down my cheeks. I suddenly felt part of me just left. My two good friends are just gone like that. All that were left behind are memories of times we spent together.

Even as I blog this, I so want to cry. :( Nevertheless, I enjoyed myself throughout their stay here! Weather was kind to us on most of the days. Plans went well despite changes made. Although they did not get to go places like Marina Bay Sands, Nex Shopping Mall and most importantly Universal Studios, most of the days – time was well spent! I felt nothing was wasted. (Anyway they said they will come back Singapore again! I hope!) Adding to the fact that Christina and I were sick actually. I want to specially thank them both for making my 2010 Christmas such a special one. Thank my Mum for allowing them to stay over and preparing the room for them. Most importantly, thank God for making all things good for us on all the days!

To my Darling Christina and my Dear Lee Xiang, “Thank you for the friendship all these years! I am truly amazed how our long distance friendship can grow so much. Even more than close friends I have here in Singapore. In fact, I don’t even know if I have any closer friends than you both. Thank God that we crossed each other lives and made a virtual friendship turned so real. I sincerely look forward to seeing you both again! I am so lost for words now are tears flow down my cheeks (Christina, this is when I messaged you on MSN that Sunday night, I am blogging now.) You both are truly my amazing friends! I LOVE YOU BOTH AND MISS YOU BOTH SO MUCH! Lots of love!“

The dessert was nice! My mom ate their red bean ice while I tried their red jelly with longan. So if you are nearby this area, do try their dessert especially on a hot day. :)

Last Sunday, together with my mom, we dinned in at this newly opened restaurant nearby our house. Named Wild Fire Japanese Western Grill, it mainly serves western dishes. Looking from the menu, I actually feel it’s more like 95% western dishes like fish & ship, steak, chicken while only two dishes are Japanese ramen. So I guess that their objective to brand themselves as a Japanese restaurant is mainly to attract customers. After all, I believe more people are really more attracted to Japanese food than Western. So by doing a fusion in branding, surely it will draw more customers!

Anyway onto the food quality itself. Erm my mom said the ramen was just like instant noodles. While the beef in the soup, at least they grilled it first before putting into the bowl to serve. Not like those stew beef kind. But the taste was nothing fantastic. At least if the soup tastes good, it will still be something. But yet the soup taste was not that nice. As for my fish & ship, I was disappointed with the fries. It was served kind of cold and not crispy at all. And the fish was too salty in the seasoning. The best dish on the fish & chip was the coleslaw.

Conclusion… well still cheaper to eat at Western food restaurant like New York New York. $7.50 for a plate of fish & chip, surely cheaper than New York New York. Oh, and there is no 10% service charge and no 7% GST. I will still go back to give their other dishes like steak and chicken a try. Hopefully the second round I visit will be better!
