First Meet with Tiffany this 2012

Tiffany told me it was our first time meeting in 2012. I thought I had met her a week ago only. But anyway, she came to Kovan to have dinner with me yesterday. Before dinner, she came my place and I watched with her a show called “Being Elmo”. The show talks about the real human puppeteer behind Elmo and his life. After the show, we walked over to Heartland Mall to have dinner at Pizza Hut. We wanted to try to special Fortune Bag Pizza for the Chinese New Year season. Besides ordering the Fortune Bag Pizza meal that comes with two drinks and two soups, we also ordered calamari rings and garlic bread as side dishes.

The pizza tasted good! I think this pizza is better than the Christmas pizza that I ate with Xin Yun last month. The fortune bags contain shrimps while the toppings of the pizza include chicken ham, mushroom, pineapple and it comes with chicken floss too. Although the portion of chicken floss was quite pathetically little. I finished my entire portion but as usual of Tiffany, not finishing her portion! Last two slices of the pizza, she basically only ate the toppings. Then half of the garlic bread which is supposed to be her’s to finish, she only ate one piece out of three. Yet she always tells me how hungry she is before the dinner. :)

Two Dinners With Two Friends

For two nights over the weekends, I got to meet with Chanel and Xin Yun to have dinner one after another. First was with Chanel last Friday. Chanel and I ate dinner at Swensen’s on Friday night. I initially did not want to eat at Swensen’s after the disappointing meal quality at Suntec City last week after church service with my mum. I mean the food was not that fantastic to have to eat again. Nevertheless since Chanel wanted to eat it, I agreed. While driving from office to Compass Point, she was already there queuing up for table. She already knew she wanted to eat Teriyaki Chicken Pasta. For me, instead of eating a main course meal, I decided to try the Chicken Baked Rice. And I concluded after the meal that there are some dishes in Swensen’s that are good! Such as the two I mentioned above. Then we also shared one Christmas special ice-cream, the Chocolate Twinkle. That was also very good! So I enjoyed this meal at Swensen’s!

Walking towards the car park, we stopped by a shop and Chanel told me she likes this iPhone casing. She found it very cute and she always wanted it but did not want to buy it for herself. Without much thinking, I decided to buy it for her as a Christmas present. Here she wanted me to post the photo of it.

The second dinner was last night together with Xin Yun. We were supposed to meet with Chanel but she was too lazy to come out. Xin Yun and I had few places in mind – Pasta Mania; PepperLunch and Pizza Hut. We decided on Pizza Hut just opposite at Heartland Mall. Ironical thing was that Xin Yun ate Pizza Hut the day before. But she did not eat the Christmas pizza. Now Xin Yun wanted to eat the pizza. Every year on Christmas, I will try to eat the Christmas pizza from Pizza Hut because it looks so nice. This year one was no difference too. I mean, it looks attractive too!

However, the taste was a bit weird. They included mash potato in the pizza which made the pizza quite not-so-nice to eat. Nevertheless besides that, it was still quite okay!

Pizza Hut Lunch with Timothy

It was an impromptu decision to meet for lunch. It was a day that Manchester City beaten Liverpool in the early morning hours. And because Timothy was too happy that Manchester City won, he overslept and did not go tot school. Hence we decided to meet for lunch. And he insisted I wore my Manchester United shirt. Throughout the meeting, everything we do, he must irritatingly link it with blue (Manchester City colors). He cannot stop telling me how proud he is of his supporting team. Always comparing how good is blue over red (Manchester Untied colors). And I had to do the painful job or keep reminding him which is the team that has won 17 championship titles. Haha!

Sigh, Tampines Mall Pizza Hut is one restaurant that brings back many memories… “We often sat there… it is now empty.“

We wanted to take photos together in Pizza Hut. But because there were people seated next to our table, we ended up going out of the place to take. I had to place my camera on top of a rubbish bin to take a timer shot. :P

There was one photo he kissed the badge of his shirt. But I refuse to upload that. :)

Photos at Pizza Hut

Continuing on with my photos that I want to share. Today’s update of photos was taken while I was having lunch at Pizza Hut last week. On this below photo collage, check out the bottom two that has the train in it. Comparing both, you notice one of the trains is moving (left) while the other seems stationary (right). That is a technique I am still trying hard to practice on. Basically playing with the shutter speed to give the impression of the objecting either moving or freeze in time. And those two shots seem to be the best so far I have taken on this technique.

Below these photos, while taking them, the customers and staffs thought I was crazy taking so many photos of the plate. But of course they cannot see what was on the plate without actually coming over to see. So to their impression, I was just taking photo of the plate. Haha! The monochrome effect came out quite nice on certain shots. Art of photography! Simply beautiful, awesomeness!

Dominos Pizza back in Singapore

It was many years ago that Dominos closed operations in Singapore. However after almost a decade, they are back in 2010! Back then, I did not even get a chance to try their pizza. Few days ago while driving home, I spotted their new outlet under renovation just 200 metres away from where I lived. Then it was not long that the shop opened for business! So after playing basketball with my friends; Louis, Edward, Brittany, Amanda and I, we decided to try Dominos! It was also the first time Amanda joined us for dinner after basketball.

Unfortunately it was not 2-for-1 pizza like many pizza brands nowadays. But because of the promotion of the second regular pizza at only $0.10, it was as good as 2-for-1! Hence we did not mind trying. So we ordered 4 9″ pizzas with two of it costing only $0.10 each. Together with a bottle of 1.5l of Coke and two boxes of garlic cheese onion rings, we paid about $55. We tried both the classic hand tossed and crunchy thin crust, both crusts were good! From the top photo of 4 pizzas:

Top left: Classic Pepperoni – All time favorite with generous portions of beef pepperoni and 100% mozzarella cheese.

Top right: Classified Chicken – Succulent smoked chicken breast, fresh onions and mushrooms.

Bottom left: Hawaiian Paradise – 100% mozzarella cheese with succulent smoked chicken breast, turkey ham and juicy pineapples.

Bottom right: Meatzza – Smoked chicken breast, turkey ham, chicken sausage, cabanossi, beef pepperoni and ground beef.

All of the above 4 were very good! If I am to pick a “must-try”, I would say the Classified Chicken. Because it is not tomato sauce based, I really like the taste of this! Meatzza is really stuffed with a lot of meat while the other two are more common flavors.

Louis and I are already planning to eat again, at least before the promotions are over. You can find their promotion coupons at their official website – www.dominos.com.sg. I expect Dominos to give Pizza Hut a good competition!
