Quit Restaurant City

Of every Facebook games I played, I have always not wanted to quit Restaurant City. But I guess the time has come for me to quit that game too. After I started working, I found that I have no more time playing Restaurant City. Well yeah I do, but is just probably just going in to click for the money. Then I leave the restaurant open for 24 hours then I repeat the process. No longer have I found any more pull factor to continue playing the game. With that, I decided to quit the game. Here is my final restaurant layout.

I want to take this opportunity to also give special thanks to Sharon from Hong Kong – my Restaurant City friend whom I gave me so much throughout my 2 years of playing this game. Without her help, I will not have enjoyed the game so much too! “Thank you Sharon but sadly I am not going to continue this game.” Also want to give thanks to Jennie from Sweden – another Restaurant City friend of mine who helped me too. :)

So, I am no longer actively playing any Facebook game. I am considering one though – Airport City. But I still do not have time to give it a try.

Jungle Theme for Restaurant City

Having quit from My Shops recently, I now have plenty of time for Restaurant City. Present is the one and only game I am playing actively. So I decided to give my restaurant a new look! Thankfully Playfish released a theme that seems nice this week – Jungle Theme. So I spent almost 5 hours renovating my restaurant both the interior and exterior. In fact it was just half of the restaurant size that I renovated yet it took me so long already. But at the end of it, I like it a lot! :)

Game Over for My Shops

Soon after playing My Shops in Facebook, I was quickly addicted to the game. That eventually I spent a lot of time into the game. Hence I level up quite quickly. In just about 2 months, I am now level 59. In fact, I already constructed my second last possible shop that can be built. However because of construction, it also seems to be the downfall for me to leave the game. I got sick of doing the repeated process of restocking and selling of goods. And because I have 9 shops to look after, it seems like whatever money I can earn per day, goes back to restocking the goods.

Then came my 9th shop which I talked about earlier (above picture). This is labelled as an “Expert” difficult shop. With that, I realised it is going to take me a lot of time to even upgrade the shop because of the cost. Therefore making this game too time consuming. Early into the game, I have read feedback from forums before about how difficult it is to earn money at the later stage; I guess I felt that now. Eventually that led to my decision to quitting this game. Here are the 8 other shops I built.

Anyway with all my remaining money I have, I bought gifts for my good gaming friend Sharon! For she has always given me cash items in Restaurant City. So at least I can buy her back some cash stuff. I told her about me quitting the game and she was sad to see me leave. She commented that she is motivated to play so she can chase me in level. “Haha!” Anyway she also sees an ending to come soon for herself in the game. But for now, she will stay with it.

I will still be actively playing the one and only game left – Restaurant City. It seems to be a game that I still find fun in even after trying so many games. Any games to recommend next? :)

Train City in Facebook

Two weeks ago I blogged about Monopoly Millionaires. A day after that, I immediately quit the game since I really did not find the push factor to play anymore. Today I am going to blog about another game that I just removed in Facebook – Train City. Train City is a game where you get to build your own city. Much like Social City and CityVille. Yeah I do like such building city kind of games. But Train City kept me playing for no more than 3 weeks and I decided to stop. As the name goes, “Train City”, I expect the game to be much more designed around the development of building a train system in the city. But I realised that was not the case. The train in the city is no more than just the main method to earn money while whether or not you design a good train system, does not matter. Moreover this game is quite time consuming just like the other two that I mentioned above. So I felt I should quit earlier than later else I will waste more time on it.

For now, I am addicted to My Shops! :) And of course I am not giving up on Restaurant City.

Restaurant City Airport Cafe Theme

Last week, Playfish released an “Airport Cafe” theme in Restaurant City. I decided to give that theme a try because I like airports and airplanes! I was just holding back to make the renovation because I was waiting to see what items will cost me real life money instead of game money. Much to my relieve, only one (yet very important) piece of decoration requires real life money. That is the air traffic control tower. But again thanks to my awesome friend Sharon from Hong Kong, she bought it for me as a gift. She never fails to get me someone that I wanted. No, not that I am taking advantage of her! But she also knows that I do not like her to spend unnecessarily for me. “Right Sharon? :)“

This latest design took me two days to complete. Not that I spent 48 hours on it but just a few hours a day to complete section by section. The final design was not what I had in my mind originally. But things changed along the way, such as I was disappointed that Playfish limit us to buy only one runway per player. Hence if you look at the screenshot, the tarmac area of the runway, quite pathetic small right compared to the entire airport? I have posted my feedback in Playfish forum to allow us more runways. But I doubt they will listen.

Initially I did not quite like my new design as compared to my previous one. Because my previous I could have very high popularity ratings because of the decorations I used. But because I did not want to destroy my previous design, hence I did not remove those items and saved that layout, for future use. So I came up with a whole new layout for this airport. Because of that, I am not longer concern with how high my popularity ratings are. As long as my airport is nice, I’m happy with it! :)

Top left: VIP Area with Lounge and Bar; Center left: Decoration Area; Bottom left: Gaming Area

Top left: Air Traffic Control Tower with Runway; Bottom left: Arrival/Departure Waiting Area

If there is one area that I feel I can improve is probably the Decoration Area I mentioned in the first photo. But for now, I think this is just nice! :) Oh and again, thanks Sharon for the Ice Cream Cart Stove as another gift.
