Tabernacle of David

There are two tabernacles that the Bible mentioned. One is Moses’s Tabernacle while the other is David’s Tabernacle. You can find the comparison of these two tabernacle in the sermon note entitled “Tabernacle of David” preached by Rev. Dr. Kong Hee during City Harvest Church service two weeks ago. David’s tabernacle is so special because it is birth out of the great love of God. David love God more than anyone else. That is also how Jesus said we should love others.

(Matthew 22:37 NKJV) Jesus said to him, shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

Those 3 points can be link to David’s Tabernacle.

Worship (all your heart)
Prayer (all your soul)
Word of God (all your mind)

Wisdoms

(Proverbs 4:7 NKJV) Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Even if you feel small and unnoticed, when you have wisdom, you will win every time.

According to the Bible, there are 4 little things on earth yet they are exceedingly wise. They are the:

Ants
Rock Badgers
Locusts
Spiders

Each of them are little in size yet possess the wisdom to overcome challenges it faces. In this sermon notes preached by Dr. Rev. Kong Hee at City Harvest Church during the weekend service of 18 September 2011, pastor shared about how we should learn to have these wisdoms in life too. That with these four wisdoms, you may be small and weak but we can make a difference!

God the Father

A short but powerful sermon preached by Rev. Dr. Kong Hee during last weekend service at City Harvest Church. Pastor shared with us 5 things about God the Father. Besides you knowing God is God, do you know the 5 things about God the Father? Fatherhood is a very important fact in life to this very age. The fatherhood of God was revealed in all the major teachings in the Bible. God called “Father” more than 140 times in the Bible.

What is your picture of God in your mind?

What do you think of when you hear the word “Father”? Protection? Warmth? Or an unforgiving judge?

The Power of Choices

God gave you the power to exercise your will. You have the power of the choice you want to make. Humans can influence those choices. But ultimately you are a free moral agent. Which is the original intend of God. It all simply means that the decisions in choices you make will create the future.

“Your choices create your future.” – Rev. Dr. A.R. Bernard

If choices didn’t matter, then when Adam ate the fruit that was not intended for him to eat, there should not be any altercating of the world. But choices do matter. Because Adam made a choice that created the future.

“All growth is a process.” – Rev. Dr. A.R. Bernard

Built into growth there is a promise; a promise of an ultimate end. And it is the ultimate end that sets the expectations. Too often people are committed to the end results than the process. But when they see the sacrifices and pain they have to go through during the process, they choose to back out. Commitment to the process is the goal to get us to the objective.

Jesus understood that going to the cross was part of the process of saving the world. Jesus saw the process can be so painful that he said to God, “If is possible, take this cup (of death) from me.” But He understood that the process was what He was born for. Jesus endured the cross because He knew the joy set for Him on the other side, as the objective.
